Biltmore Who's Who Selects Trevis C. Killen as an Honored VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Killen, School Social Worker for the Houston County School District, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Trevis C. Killen's commitment to excellence in Education and Social Work.
Killen, who holds a Certificate in Educational Leadership, Educational Specialist Degree in School Counseling and a Master's of Social Work from the University of Georgia, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Albany State University, has been working in the school system since 2006, after spending his earlier years teaching at Lanier Technical College, Philip Grace Boys Home and Winder Adult Detention Center.
Beginning in 2006, Killen has been working for the Houston County School District, enhancing the district's ability to meet its academic mission, especially where home, school and community collaboration are vital to achieving that mission. He enforces the Georgia Compulsory Attendance Act, establishes community partnerships to support students and schools and designs programs to address students' needs. He also serves as a member on the crisis intervention response team.
Having come from a long line of teachers, Killen said, "My family has instilled within me a passion for public service through education, especially my mother Ellen, who spent thirty-one years as an elementary teacher."
With the hopes of becoming an educational administrator, Killen is currently working on a doctoral degree in educational administration from Georgia Southern University. His hopes are to obtain a school or district level position that will allow him to close the achievement gap, create continuous improvement and ensure that all students graduate from high school and further their education.
Killen is a member of the Georgia Association of School Social Workers, Phi Lambda Theta Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society, National Scholars Honor Society and the US Achievement Academy. He has also served as president and vice-president for the School Social Workers Association of Georgia's sixth district. He is currently certified in administration and supervision and is a certified school counselor and school social worker. When Trevis isn't busy working, he volunteers with Free Providence Baptist Church, and also enjoys reading, exercising and listening to music.
