Head, Executive Chef at University of West Georgia for Aramark, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Timothy A. Head's commitment to excellence in Hospitality and Food Service.

Head, who holds an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta, began working in the field about twenty-two years ago, after deciding to quit his full-time job and go to school to pursue his passion of cooking.

Now the executive chef for Aramark at the University of West Georgia, Head oversees the college's residential dining facility, feeding breakfast, lunch and dinner daily for all the students. All meals are different each day and are made up of a four-week rotation of menu items. He serves approximately 1,400 meals per day, including multiple food stations, including an omelet station for breakfast, a pizza section, and a deli and salad bar for lunch and dinner. He also oversees staffing, purchasing and production for their retail operation, which includes a Starbucks, Einstein's Bagels, Chick Fil-A, Burger Studio, Tack Fresca, Subway, Tony's Sushi and Topio's Pizza and Calzones. In addition, Head overseas Classic Fair Catering, servicing multitudes of different departments on campus as well as for off-premise events.

"My culinary skills combined with my ability to produce large catered events are probably the two most important factors that put me at the level that I am at,"
Head said in relation to his career. "I have a 'never fail' attitude when it comes to work."

Head said that one of his greatest hobbies always was and still is to bring people together with food. One of his favorite hobbies is throwing parties for people and making memories through food.

Hoping to become a regional chef with his company in the near future, Head knows that he has a long and bright career future ahead of him. He is currently a member of American Culinary Federation (ACF) and the Chaines de Rottiseur. He is a past board of directors member for Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach. He has been published in three cookbooks and was also featured in numerous magazines and newspapers for his work.

Head volunteered recently with the American Red Cross as a food production leader for their local annual Christmas Dinner, the largest homeless, needy and homebound feeding in the state of South Carolina. He was also a celebrity guest chef speaker for the Methodist Children's Homes Epicurian Evening in Wilmington, North Carolina. He has traveled extensively throughout the country with Aramack, executing large events, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest rodeo in the world, lasting twenty-three days long, and serving approximately fifty-eight thousand meals per day.

Head received an American Culinary Federation Bronze Medal in his first ACF sanctioned competition in 2007, was named the 2006 Souper Supper Winner, also through the ACF, won the Chilimpics Murrills Inlet Overall Winner in 2006, received a National Award for Culinary Execellence in 2002, and was the winner of a Cocoa Beach Chowder Cook-Off in 2001. When Timothy isn't busy working or volunteering, he enjoys offshore fishing.
