Biltmore Who's Who Selects Tamara E. Jones as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Lousiville, KY-IN (1888PressRelease) December 17, 2010 - Tamara E. Jones, Administrator for the Surgical Center of New Albany, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Jones, who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Ball State University, began nursing in 1985 after completing her boards. After spending some time at Ball memorial Hospital on their telemetry unit, then their coronary care unit, and finally, their operating room. She completed a critical care certification just before transferring to a new location.
After moving to New Albany in 1987, Jones began working at her current company, starting out as a circulator in the operating room before becoming the director of nursing in 1990 and CEO in 1991. She completed her legal nurse consultant certification in 2009 and is now enrolled in a First Assist Program that she hopes to complete by the end of next year.
As CEO, Jones is responsible for the budget, insurance contracting, recruiting of physicians, human resources, the up-keep of the facility, all state Board of Health requirements, as well as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. She is also responsible for overseeing staffing, accounts receivable and payable, helping with policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws and governing body bylaws. She serves on the governing body committee, medical executives committee, quality assurance performance improvement committee, medical staff, utilization review board, infection control, safety, pharmacy, and nursing staff boards. "I set goals for myself all the time," Jones said about her ever changing field. "Once I have reached one goal, I will set another. I enjoy learning and try keeping up with the new technology."
Hoping to complete her RNFA and CORN soon, Jones plans to also pursue her master's degree in nursing with an MBA program. Currently, she is working on growing her legal nurse consulting business that she began last year.
Jones is a member of American Nursing Associates, Indiana Nursing Association, American OR Registered Nurses, Indiana Federation Ambulatory Surgery Center and the National Ambulatory Surgery Center. She has received Leadership and Excellence Awards in both 1999 and 2000, and a President's Club Award in 2005 and 2006 from Symbion. In her free time, Tamara enjoys gardening and cooking.
