Reed, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Wheeling Jesuit University, spent many years as a chemistry research assistant before starting a family and eventually making a career change.
Upon starting her second career years later as a practice administrator, Reed works for a GI handling the business of medicine. She is in charge of all the day to day operations of the practice, including the accounting aspects, accounts payable and credentialing the doctor with insurance companies and hospitals. She also negotiates contracts when needed, maintains the patient database, vendor contracts, and any other needs required in an effort of maintaining patients. In addition, she verifies patient insurance and does procedure authorizations. "I work for a man whose dedication to a cause made me want to do the best job I could," Reed explained. "He taught me how to do a lot of things, but most of all, how to fight for a cause."
Hoping to continue in aiding patients alongside her boss and help physicians achieve their ultimate goal of bettering healthcare, Reed is optimistic for a bright future and plans to continue to do good work to better herself. In her free time, Rosemary enjoys reading and gardening.
