- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) November 20, 2010 - Robert "Bob" A. Alford, Owner of Bob Alford's Pro Street Customs and Auto Restorations, Inc., has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Founded in 1996 in Winter Park, Florida, Alford spent eight years building up his business which comprised of a 2,500 square foot garage from a local body shop. Forced to hire craftsmen in an effort to keep up with the demand for quality of work that his customer's had been accustomed to, he later opened a larger shop in 2004 in Orlando. Boasting over 11,000 square feet, the compound is a fully equipped, state of the art restoration and fabrication facility.
Learning the trade at the young age of fourteen, Alford has produced custom cars and motorcycles from start to finish, including the design, fabrication of the specialty items required by the job and the customer, body work, custom paint, wiring, all plumbing of the fuel and brake systems, and the assembly of the vehicle. Even with full-time employees on hand, he still does all of the designing and is very hands-on, doing the custom paint work himself and overseeing every job. "I learned to treat each project as if it were my own," Alford said. "I have been in the industry since 1965, and am still learning new things."
Alford desires to continue designing and building his custom cars and motorcycles for his customers for as long as his business thrives. "I truly believe that high quality work is a thing of the past in most trades in America, but that there are still potential customers that will not settle for anything less than perfection. Those are the people that continue to drive me to produce the best work I can," he added.
Awarded numerous times for Best of Show, Best Paint, and several People's Choice Awards at local events over the years, Alford has also been featured in several magazines for his work. He's also been approached to do a reality television show about his shop but has since declined the offer. He is a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church, and volunteers and donates to Flight to Light Organization, Run for Freedom and Russell Home for Atypical Children. In his free time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family and going to car shows.
