- Naples-Marco Island, FL (1888PressRelease) May 01, 2012 - Robby W. Gemert, Owner and Director of Dutch Soccer Master Academy, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Robby W. Gemert's commitment to excellence in Sports and Education.
Gemert, who studied at Midland Institute and George Brown College, started working in the industry in 2000 under the name X-Cell Soccer Camp before opening his Academy in 2007.
As owner and director, Gemert teaches and guides players the basic technical and tactical elements of soccer and progress as the players develop in ability and age. By placing his players in certain situations outside of their comfort zone, Gemert encourages them to make tactical decisions and be very quick on their feet, so to speak.
"As a former professional I have had many coaches over the years, each with different qualities. I have been able to incorporate all of them, which have benefited me as a coach," Gemert said. "I have learned to be able to work will all age levels and I have the ability to technically demonstrate skill at game speed to young players."
After retiring from playing professionally, Gemert has always wanted to coach soccer and inspire others through his experience. He hopes to someday coach a national team, either youth or adult, something he would consider to be the pinnacle of his career.
Gemert is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Soccer Coaches Association of America, United States Soccer Federation, National American Soccer Netherlands, Royal Dutch Soccer Federation, and Florida Realtor. He has earned the title of North American Soccer League Champion and has earned six championships with Ontario Nation Soccer League, the most championships won by a player in the league.
