Biltmore Who's Who Selects Pete Hayden as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Pete Hayden's commitment to excellence in writing Children's Books.
- Harrisburg-Lebanon-Carlisle, PA (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2010 - Pete Hayden, Author of Davey Big Head: Dream Big, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Hayden, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design and marketing from Concord College, recently started a children's book series, with his first book in print since May of 2009.
Intended for beginner and intermediate level readers, Davey Big Head: Dream Big, is the story of a boy named Davey that is considered "special." Born with a big head, Davey encounters obstacles that have him getting stuck in doorways and on playground jungle gyms.
As author and illustrator, Hayden is able to capture and express exactly how he imagines Davey Big Head. "The whole image of the book falls on me," he explained. "I love the control that it gives me with something that I really love to do." He is also in charge all branding for the series, including a website featuring Davey t-shirts, stuffed toys, activity sheets and backpacks for kids.
Currently working on his second book, Hayden hopes his series really takes off, crediting a past teacher, Mrs. Gilreath, for inspiring him to pursue his dream. Currently doing classroom appearances in his free time to promote the series, the book has already won a Bronze Award in the Reader's Favorites last year.
Hayden is also the co-owner of On All Floors, a flooring and installation company that specializes in carpeting, hardwood and ceramic tile. He has worked in the field for thirteen years, beginning his career with The Home Depot before opening his own company six years ago with partner is Nick Instasi.
