Biltmore Who's Who Selects Peggy Porter-McGee as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Peggy Porter-McGee commitment to excellence in the Healthcare industry.
- Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2010 - Peggy Porter-McGee, Director of Special Projects at Voyager Hospicecare, Inc., has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Peggy Porter-McGee commitment to excellence in the Healthcare industry.
Porter-McGee, who began home health in 1987 with a company called Professional Home Health in Granbury, Texas, now works in management for a very large and successful company.
As manager A/R and director of special projects, Porter-McGee develops and manages an AR department that has grown with an expansion from three sites in one state to over a combined forty sites of home health and hospice in six states. She handles communication and correspondence with three different Medicare intermediaries and six state Medicaid programs, including financial development reports, annual and quarterly reports, and information/data updates, such as required applications for new agency start-ups and closures. Additionally, she interacts with numerous insurance and health networks that funnel through her office. "Emersion in the regulations of the health industry is necessary to stay abreast of the ever changing rules," she said. "Studying and embracing these volumes keep me from straying off that narrow path."
Inspired by her longtime mentor Reba Tomlinson, of Tomlinson Health Services, Porter-McGee plans to stay in her position for the time being. "Hospice and all healthcare is on the precipice of startling changes. I plan to help my company, and when needed, other hospice associates, to weather these changes and mold a strong, secure provider of health services," she said.
Porter-McGee is a licensed notary, a member of Texas and New Mexico Hospice and Palliative Care Association, and the National Professional Women's Association. She donates her time to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the National Brittany Rescue Association. She was named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Business Women for the 2010-11 year, and Employee of the Year in 2002 by a local hospice of which her collection expertise kept the facility from closing down due to financial devastation. She has earned recognition for accomplishments in the hospice field. In her spare time, Peggy participates in dog rescue projects, traveling, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her family.
