Biltmore Who's Who Selects Pamela Phillips as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Pamela Phillips's commitment to excellence in the Healthcare industry.
- Montgomery, AL (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2010 - Pamela Phillips, Patient Care Coordinator for Baptist Health Breast Center, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Phillips, who holds a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina, has been working in her field for over twenty years. Starting out in the Washington, DC area and traveling overseas to Germany, she settled in Montgomery.
As a coordinator for the Breast Center, Phillips helps patients once they have been diagnosed with breast cancer to get a surgeon or give them the resources to help them deal with the disease. She takes on the role of nurse and social worker very seriously, saying that patients either accept it or deny it completely. "I wanted to make a difference in the healthcare area by helping sick people get well," she explained. "For those that would not get well, I wanted to be a comfort to them."
Working many years as a medical-surgical nurse and nurse educator provided Phillips with the tools she needed to guide patients in the right direction for care. She learned how to deal with patients and provide top notch customer service skills in ways that would provide the best, quality care. In the future she hopes to become a consultant to help individuals who do not know what to do when faced with these serious health issues. "I love teaching others, but realize my passion is in seeing patients smile and knowing that in some way I have helped them to get the quality of care they deserve," she added.
Phillips is certified in medical-surgical nursing from ANCC and also holds an instructor's certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). She is a member of the HEAL Society and partakes in various public speaking opportunities on breast health. She has been named Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year for her company. In her spare time, Pamela volunteers with Joy for Life, and enjoys reading, sewing, and singing.
