Spitz, Financial Manager for TMG Health, Inc., has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Michael A. Spitz's commitment to excellence in Finance and Healthcare.
Spitz, who holds a BS in Accounting from Kings College and an MBA from Wilkes University, began working in his field in 1987 as an accounting intern for the subsidiary of Cineplex Odeon Canada.
Boasting over twenty-five years experience in business operations, Spitz currently works in customer service, support services, ancillary services, appeals and grievance departments. His responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis, performing advanced ad-hoc analytical reporting of financial and operational data and performance for management. He also serves as the single point Subject Management Expert (SME) for all budgeting related tools and performance, interacts with varied departments such as printing and fulfillment, reporting, analytics, workforce management, training, human resources, telecommunications, information technology, corporate finance/accounting and payroll. Spitz has extensive interaction with the organization's directors, vice-presidents and CFO.
Contributing a host of expertise to his role, Spitz said, "I have a mindset that goes beyond typical numbers crunching. An organization runs on more than just numbers."
Spitz noted that critical thinking skills, organization development, strategic planning and business planning, business management, marketing, human resources and information technology all play a role in his success, as well as experience working with non-profits, banking, the defense department, department of energy, NASA, pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare and the movie and entertainment industry.
Currently working toward his certified manager of accounting certification (CMA), Spitz plans to continue in his career path toward an executive leadership role. In the meantime, he will continue to lead by example and follow his three work environment rules, which include achieving excellence, developing teamwork and loyalty and inspiring leadership.
Spitz is the recipient of numerous awards for volunteerism and community service, and he has been recognized by executive management of the former Fleet Bank in Scranton for service to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre communities. He has also been recognized with service performance awards from the city of Chino Hills in Southern California. When Michael isn't busy working, he enjoys playing tennis, bowling and taking care of his two dogs.
