The selection recognizes Mark Hansen's commitment to excellence in Real Estate, Public Speaking and Writing.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2010 - Mark Hansen, realtor for Coldwell Banker and author of Success 101 for Teens, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Mark Hansen's commitment to excellence in Real Estate, Public Speaking and Writing.
Hansen, a Florida Atlantic University graduate of communications and licensed real estate agent, has successfully worked as an agent for the past fifteen years, consistently ranking in the top three percent nationally with his company. In addition, he has also dedicated the last twenty years to conducting motivational seminars, beginning with his first speech to a group of middle school-aged students.
Hit by a car as a child while riding his bike, Hansen realized that his passion was to pay it forward by conducting motivational speeches to teens. After struggling as an adolescent and often being teased by his peers, he knew that his true calling was to share his insight and enlighten other teenagers of everyday obstacles. His accident, which left him paralyzed on the left side of his body, had him learning to walk and talk all over again and was subject to seizures for the next nine years. But after overcoming it all, some of which his doctors believed would be nearly impossible, like driving a car or making his way through college, he was enthused to inspire others to think positively and dream the impossible. Since then, he has conducted over 1,400 seminars, appeared on radio and television programs, and wrote a book in 2001, titled An Ark for Learning, which was used in many middle schools in his area as a learning guide for students and teachers. His most recent published work, Success 101 For Teens, 7 Traits for Winning Life, was published nationally by Paragon House in 2009.
When Hansen isn't selling real estate or engaging in public speaking, he acts as a board member of the American Association for Care Giving Youth. He also served two terms on the Palm Beach County School Board, which is the eleventh largest school district in the country. He has won numerous awards, including the Nido Qubein Scholarship Award from the National Speakers Association and the Dorthy Finkelhor Award from the Florida Speakers Association. He was inducted into the National Society for Collegiate Scholars at Florida Atlantic University and has won the Excellence in Education Award from Northwood University. More recently, Hansen founded the Lucile Hansen Education and Cancer Research Fund after his mother who passed away in 2006.
