Biltmore Who's Who Selects Leslie S. Loop as a Professional Member of the Executive and Professional Registry
The selection recognizes Leslie L. Loops's commitment to excellence in Physical Therapy and Healthcare.
- Erie, PA (1888PressRelease) April 18, 2012 - Leslie S. Loop, Physical Therapist for Aegis Therapies, a division of Beverly Healthcare, LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Leslie L. Loops's commitment to excellence in Physical Therapy and Healthcare.
Loop, an experienced physical therapist since 2006, has held numerous positions in the field, in both inpatient skilled nursing facilities and outpatient orthopedic clinics.
In her current role, Loop evaluates patients that are new to the facility that are either being treated for medical or physical/functional mobility complications. She identifies deficits in areas such as strength, balance, endurance, mobility and safety, and develops a plan of care and appropriate treatment interventions for those conditions. She looks for difficulty with memory, functional deficits and other psychological problems that may run concurrent with their physical problems. Loop also routinely reassesses patients on her caseload and the caseloads of her physical therapy assistants that she supervises, performs home assessments, does marketing assignments, holds informational in-service for co-workers, attends interdisciplinary meetings with patients, family members and other faculty, and attends continued education courses.
"I don't think that I really had any inspiration along the way to get me where I am today," Loop said about her budding career. "It just happened!"
Having mostly practiced with the geriatric population, Loop recently began focusing on the cardiopulmonary aspects of rehabilitation in her continued education courses. She hopes to publish some of her work in peer related journals, one of which will be ready for submission very soon. She would also like to teach at the university level after earning her postdoctoral degree in either rehabilitation or healthcare.
Loop also dances with Dafmark Dance Theater, a non-profit contemporary ballet company. She began dancing at the young age of seven and began teaching at just fourteen. She attends classes, learns choreography and performs at various venues throughout the year. She is also an instructor for Dafmark Dance Academy, a school connected to Dafmark Dance Theater, forming lesson plans, selects music, creates original choreography for her students, works on winter and spring performance costumes, and creatively finds ways to present material differently so that her students are able to learn and retain new information and dance steps being taught. She credits her continued dance classes, rehearsing and yoga in part to her success and passion in dance.
Loop earned her BS in Sports and Exercise Science, her Master's in Physical Therapy and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, all from Gannon University, followed by a Master's Degree in Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Psychology Association, Dafmark Dance Theater, Erie Opera Theater, and MENSA. She also serves as a panel member for the ArtsErie grant panel, in which she reads different arts grants from Erie area organizations to determine who should get funded for the 2011-2012 season.
