- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) December 23, 2011 - Lakay V. Black-Wilkerson, Reading Resource for Broward County Schools, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Lakay V. Black-Wilkerson's commitment to excellence in Education.
Black-Wilkerson, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Fisk University and a Master's Degree in Reading from Barry University, is a certified teacher with over thirty years experience in her field.
Beginning as a substitute teacher in 1981, Black-Wilkerson fell in love with the idea of teaching and working in a classroom setting. She also participates in monthly networking with other reading coaches to share best practices and ideals to help their teachers in their delivery of knowledge.
"Being a teacher is much more than reading, writing and arithmetic," Black-Wilkerson explained. "I let my students know how very proud I am of their efforts and constantly remind them that they can do and be whatever they want to be."
Always striving daily to live up to the high standards of the community, Black-Wilkerson hopes to continue the path in education by educating young minds and instilling in them to always do their best.
