Biltmore Who's Who Selects Kathy Brown as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Charleston-North Charleston, SC (1888PressRelease) April 14, 2011 - Kathy Brown, Office Manager and Medicaid Adolescence Pregnancy Prevention Service Coordinator (MAPPS) for Jasper County School District, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Kathy Brown's commitment to excellence in Education.
Brown, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management from Voorhees College, began working in administrative work beginning with the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Ft. Richardson, Alaska during her husband's deployment in the US Army. From there she returned home and worked for Beaufort County Board of Education before landing her current position.
As office manager for the school district, Brown administers the operational components of the department. As MAPPS coordinator, she assists the director with any issues pertaining to youth counselors. She also councils fifth grade students at one of the local elementary schools within the district and services as homebound coordinator to students that are unable to attend school due to illness, injury or any other medical reason and assigns teachers to instruct these students within their home. Having a certification in homeless training from the University of South Carolina and a level I hearing officer certification, Brown takes her job very seriously. "It is about helping students to reach their potential," she explained. "I found that by encouraging them and letting them know how they can achieve is half the battle."
Aspiring to do motivation speaking and consulting in the future, Brown continues to do good work and be mentally and physically available for all of her students. She currently serves as administrative assistant for her local church, is a licensed minister for the past thirty years and is the manager for Praise Dancers. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Golden Nugget Award from the Department of HUD, and Appreciation Awards from Beaufort County Education Association, the Fraternal Order of Police and Jasper County School District Student Services Department. In her free time, Kathy enjoys watching New Orleans Saints Football.
