Lawson, who attended Illinois Central College for marketing and computer science, has been working in her field for the last fourteen years.
As a sales consultant, Lawson calls all potential clients that have requested demonstrations of the company products and also does in-home demos. She cold calls people, works on referrals or previous customers, and attains her own leads as well in an effort for her customers to commit. She also confirms and organizes her leads with her schedule and does trade shows to expose her products. "I am self-motivated and had the advantage of wonderful parents who taught me how to have great work ethic," she explained. "I have had to work a lot harder to overcome the myths of this being a man's job, but have welcomed the challenges and succeeded."
Planning to continue in her role until retirement, Lawson would like to learn to sell more products in the home improvement field and possibly teach sales classes in the future. She also aspires to work with battered women by becoming a public speaker within her community.
Lawson is a member of St. Sharbel's Church and Thoroughbred Association. She was published in Marketeer Magazine, and has received numerous awards, including Salesperson of the Month several times. She was also ranked number three in the US for Gutter Helmet sales and received the Award of Excellence in performance and customer satisfaction every year.
