  • Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI (1888PressRelease) March 19, 2011 - Jody Allen Crowe, Founder of Healthy Brains for Children, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Jody Allen Crowe's commitment to excellence in the field of Non-Profit.

    Crowe, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Public School Administration from Bemidji State University, has been working in the field of education since 1989, working on Indian Reservations as a teacher, principal, consultant and superintendent for eighteen years. He then began working for a public charter school in 2007 before founding his organization in 2008.

    With a mission to prevent prenatal exposure to alcohol in communities across the nation, Crowe's organization provides training for teachers, principals, superintendents, college students, human services providers, law enforcement, judicial officers, parents and students. He is directly responsible for providing leadership for strategy, organization development, implementation, financial oversight and fundraising. He also provides keynote speaking, training and community presentations based on his experience and research in prenatal exposure. "In my eighteen years working in communities devastated by prenatal exposure to alcohol, I realized I needed to study the research so I could develop an educational program that provided the optimal learning experience for the high percentage of students in my schools," Crowe said.

    Crowe is the author of The Fatal Link, a book that reveals the connection between school shooters and prenatal exposure to alcohol. He is a member of the Minnesota Association of Charter Schools, is a past principal's advisory committee member to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and is an alumnus of the Sixth Year Licensure Program from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a certified superintendent, principal and elementary and middle school mathematics teacher for the state as well. He's won numerous awards, including a School of the Year Award from the National Indian School Board Association and a Harvard JFK Award for the design of the Ojibwe Language Program. Crowe has also designed and implemented a middle school that was presented with the Blue Ribbon School Award from President Clinton, he also led the Nay Ah Shing School to the 2002 National Indian School Board Association 4-Cs Award and designed and implemented two highly effective Intensive Service Programs for Emotional and Behaviorally Disabled students in two states on two different reservations. In his free time, Jody enjoys hunting and fishing.
