Biltmore Who's Who Selects Jim Richard Korte as an Executive of the Year of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) October 05, 2011 - Jim Richard Korte, Senior Compound Development Engineer for Baker Hughes C&P, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Jim Richard Korte's commitment to excellence in Engineering.
Korte, who holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, began working in his field in 1979 with Goodyear at the world's largest truck and airplane tire plant in Danville, Virginia, where he worked in various plant compounder positions. In 1988, he became the manager of compound development for medium radial truck tires for Dunlop-Sumitomo and then later was manager over Passenger and OE tires.
In his current role of ten years, Korte develops compounds for new applications and challenges in the oilfield as they arise. He also maintains the current line-up of packer compounds, determines how their line of REPacker's will perform in various well fluids and conditions, provides technical guidance to manufacturing and field personnel, mentors and provides guidance in lab safety operations.
"The keys to my success," Korte said, "have been in my abilities to relate to people on all levels from floor people to executives, as well as being a logical, practical problem solver who is able to see the big picture."
With aspirations of continued growth in his field and constantly being motivated by his family and children to always work hard, Korte is constantly inspired.
Korte currently has six patents/patents pending in his field and has been involved in various professional organizations over the years. In 2009, he was awarded the Baker Hughes Technology Excellence Award for Innovation for his work on the REPacker product line. He has been the golf chairman of the Energy Rubber Group for the past six years. When Jim isn't busy working, he enjoys playing golf and exercising, writing adding to his worldwide sand collection, and serving as president of his son's high school Theater Booster Organization.
