- Cheyenne, WY (1888PressRelease) August 31, 2010 - Janet Renee Parker, Installation PRP Manager of the US Air Force, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Parker, who holds a BS in Management and Human Resources from Park University, and is completing her MS in Criminal Justice from American Military University this year, has spent the last thirty-six years in her field, beginning in 1974 after joining the Air Force.
Beginning as a personal specialist, Parker worked her way up over the next twenty years, and took on the titles of Law Enforcement Specialist and Base Career Advisor, which is a service recruiter. Currently, as installation personal reliability program manager, she is responsible for coordinating and disseminating the personal reliability program (PRP) information and providing PRP guidance to the wing staff agencies and unit commanders/directors and their supporting staff agencies on policy or procedural issues. She is also required to publish PRP rosters from the personnel data system and conduct staff assistance visits. In addition, she trains military personnel, civilian personnel, unit monitors, applicable installation support agencies on PRP, and processes all required PRP paperwork. "I try and provide excellent customer service," Parker said. "Individuals who work in personnel need to be the resident experts in their field, otherwise, the employees they are assisting cannot make an informed decision." As the only one working in her office, her priority is to be sure that the PRP doesn't suffer until additional individuals can be hired.
Instilled by her military supervisors throughout her career to be the best at whatever job she is assigned, Parker also credits her two degrees for giving her the knowledge and knowhow at work. Notably, she also speaks fluent Italian, German, and, of course, English, which is very beneficial.
Parker is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society and supports her local Goodwill and Operation Provide Joy. She's the recipient of numerous awards throughout her career, including an Airman Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter Award six times, six Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, three Commendation Medals, a Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous Letters of Appreciation. In her spare time, Janet enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities.
