The selection recognizes Jamil Illready Robbins's commitment to excellence in Books and Entertainment.
Robbins, who studied communications at the University of Wisconsin, published is first book, Sleepers Get Dreams in May of 2011. It is a poetry collection of life as he sees it.
Having been the proud son and brother to a very loving family, Robbins lost his mother and brother tragically in murder. Inspired to write and release his feelings as a form of poetic justice, he has learned the hard way that "what doesn't kill you will make you stronger."
Currently marketing his self-published book which was reviewed in a recent edition of the New York Review of Books magazine, Robbins remembers writing his first book when he was just eight years old and having a passion to write ever since. Hoping to make the New York Times Bestsellers List, he is also studying music and songwriting.
Robbins is a proud father of a four-year-old son. He plays the acoustic guitar and enjoys listening to all genres of music.
