Biltmore Who's Who Selects Gary R. Wishmeyer as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Wishmeyer, Supervisor of Music Education Student Teachers for Indiana University's Jacob School of Music-Bloomington, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Gary R. Wishmeyer's commitment to excellence in Education.
Wishmeyer, who holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music Education from NE Missouri State University, began teaching in the fall of 1963 in the small southwestern town of Essex, Iowa.
After spending eight years working in the state of Iowa for the public school system and winning numerous festivals and competitions with both the marching and concert bands, Wishmeyer moved to New Jersey to teach at Wayne Hills High School and pursue his postgraduate degree.
Wishmeyer later worked for Fort Wayne's R. Nelson Snider High School and Lafayette Jefferson High School, before beginning his twenty-year tenure at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis in which his students won many state and national championships. In 2003, he retired from teaching and accepted a position as the Supervisor of Music Education Student Teachers at Indiana University.
A past president and member of numerous organizations and honor societies, Wishmeyer now serves as educational director of the Indiana Music Educators Association. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including being inducted into the Indiana Bandmaster's Hall of Fame and winning the Outstanding Band Director Award from Phi Beta Mu. Gary is a member and supporter of St. Christopher's Catholic Church, and in his free time, he enjoys playing golf.
