Biltmore Who's Who Selects Gail Welborn

- Winston-Salem, NC (1888PressRelease) March 01, 2011 - Gail Welborn, Certified Area Operations Officer II and Assistant Vice-President for BB&T, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Gail Welborn's commitment to excellence in Banking and Finance.
Welborn, a certified lender and series six licensee, boasts over thirty-six years in the field, where she began as a teller in 1969 for a large financial institution in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In her current role, Welborn encompasses a lot of responsibility. Involved with three branches on a daily basis, she completes audits for each internal control item and documents these time-sensitive audits through an automated system. The audits are done on a schedule of monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annual basis. She also handles facility issues, assists staff with operational problems, helps resolve client service issues, oversees and implements security procedures for each branch, and assists with training new employees to ensure that they have a complete understanding of what their responsibilities are in their position. "The most important thing that has helped me become successful in my role is that I have actually worked in the positions of all the employees that I interact with daily," Welborn explained. "I know what their job responsibilities are because I have been where they are and they respect the fact that I understand what they do on a daily basis."
Working amongst great mentors and co-workers who love a challenge, Welborn has been committed to taking on new and exciting challenges everyday. Welborn is a singer in the Down Home Gospel Quartet. She volunteers with Ronald McDonald House and is a supporter of the Victory Junction Gang, which is a NASCAR themed special camp for children with healthcare needs. In her spare time, Gail enjoys reading, studying 18th century history, NASCAR, and singing.
