Busey, who has been surrounded by the agricultural industry all her life thanks to her parents, learned at an early age how to pick fruit and all the aspects of orchard operation. As a teenager and young adult, she decided to follow in her parents' footsteps and began working at a warehouse where she learned how to pack and sort fruit, learning everything needed to run and maintain a successful warehouse. Due to her hard work, knowledge and perseverance in the industry, Busey was able to move up and was offered a job in the sales department. In 1987, she went to work for Ernie Spada at Pride Packing Company.
As the company's sales manager, Busey moves all of the company's products out of the warehouse, including fruits like apples, pears, apricots, peaches and nectarines. She strives to make lasting relationships with customers based on trust and works hard to uphold the reputation of honesty and integrity that is associated with the company's proud name - Pride Packing Company.
"I believe that anyone can succeed if they choose to work hard and persevere," Busey said. "That is exactly what I did. I love people and I am able to make friends all over the world thanks to my career. It is very rewarding."
Inspired everyday by her family, Busey is constantly surrounded by the love and support that enables her to push herself everyday to pursue her goals and her passion on the job.
Hoping to continue working in her field until retirement, Busey enjoys paying it forward by volunteering at her local children's hospital. She loves to give back, help others, and spend quality time with her children and ten grandchildren. When she isn't busy working or volunteering her time, she also enjoys needle and yard work.
