Smith, who holds an Associate's Degree in Administration from Bronx Community College, has been working in insurance since February of 2006. Upon her early retirement from the United States Postal Service and raising her children, she was looking for a rewarding career where she could be able to help other people and earn a comfortable living.
As an independent insurance agent, Smith has the flexibility to sell many different products from different insurance companies to find the best possible product at a price that her clients can feel comfortable with. She currently sells term, life and dividend-paying life products, annuities, disability income and insurance for business owners. "Being surrounded and mentored by individuals who have been in the insurance business much longer than I have has helped me tremendously," Smith said. "I'm always trying to soak up all the information I can and keep an open mind to new opportunities and possibilities."
Encouraged by her family and children everyday, Smith aspires to continue helping clients avoid financial disaster through the insurance products she offers. Educating people on the importance of being prepared for the unexpected, she says, give her purpose and fulfillment.
A member of the Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce, Smith also volunteers at community affairs when she can. She's also the recipient of a Sales Award from Combined Insurance. In her free time, Deloris enjoys gardening, fitness and reading.
