Biltmore Who's Who Selects Deborah M. Bell Deryk as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Naples-Marco Island, FL (1888PressRelease) November 06, 2010 - Deborah M. Bell Deryk, Manager of Early Childhood Programs at Charlotte County Public Schools, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Deryk, who holds a BA Degree in Public Justice from the State University of New York, followed by a MA in Education Counseling from Northwestern University, has been working in her field since 1974, when she worked as an intervention specialist in a local inner city elementary school.
After spending a few years working in the school system, Deryk went on to work at the Syracuse Rape Crisis Center as a counselor, before relocating to Florida to work at a local mental health center. But it wasn't until years later that she realized she really wanted to go back and work with children in a school setting, and for the past twenty years she's been working at the Charlotte County Public Schools in early childhood education.
As manager, Deryk oversees the day to day operations of Baker Center, which houses approximately two hundred students between the ages of nine weeks and five years. She also oversees the Health and Family Services component, the Even Start family literacy program, the state funded voluntary pre-k program. She builds collaborative agreements with other community agencies, helps with hiring, writes grants, and tracks health services. "I enjoy working with intact families and helping them to discover their strengths and build on them," Deryk said. "Everyone needs someone to support them and encourage them."
Deryk co-authored a book titled, Rape Awareness for Educators in 1979. She has presented numerous educational programs in grades kindergarten through twelve. She does consulting work with Danya, who monitors Head Start programs throughout the country. In her free time, Deborah enjoys spending time with her new husband Nick, traveling, and enjoying time with her family.
