Biltmore Who's Who Selects Dannette L. Barras As An Honored Member Of The Executive And Professional Registry

Barras, Registered Nurse at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Dannette L. Barras's commitment to excellence in the Healthcare industry.
Barras, who received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Yavapai College, began her career in 1995. She has practiced in numerous fields, including mental health, cardiac, school, and registry nursing. Eventually she settled into emergency nursing, which offered her a fast-paced variety of medicine.
As an emergency room nurse, Barras treats patients from triage as they come through the door to discharging them to another care area or home after they've been treated. She works with patients from one day old to over one hundred years old and is required to serve in all areas on a weekly basis, including critical care, cardiac, neurology, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and even minor care treatment. "I enjoy caring for the person as a whole," she explained. "Often, patients have fears about coming to the emergency room, but it is my job to put their mind at ease." Her compassion for patients and ability to think quickly on her feet attribute greatly to Barras's success in the emergency room. "These are invaluable assets in nursing," she said.
Planning to pursue her nurse practitioners license soon so that she can prescribe medications and treatments, Barras will serve as an invaluable asset on future mission trips to foreign nations. Her first mission trip was spent in Kenya, where she spent two weeks providing her medical services. She has also volunteered at the Free Clinic and has helped out at many community health fairs.
Barras wrote and released a Christian fiction book in 2008, titled Esther's Courage, published by Tate Publishing. She's a member of Emergency Nurses Association and is a certified gymnastics judge. Dannette volunteers her free time at the YMCA, helping young ladies to achieve personal success and build self-esteem, and also enjoys going to bible study, playing golf, hiking and singing.
