Biltmore Who's Who Selects Brian N. Zawislak as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

Zawislak, Teacher at Troy High School, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Brian N. Zawislak's commitment to excellence in Education.
Zawislak, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education with a minor in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in K-12 Administration, both from Eastern Michigan University, is a certified K-12 principal, 6-12 mathematics teacher, and K-12 physical education teacher. He is also a licensed soccer coach through the US Soccer Federation.
Just over ten years ago, Zawislak began his career in teaching at Livonia Churchill High School, the same high school where he graduated from. He taught there until 2007 before accepting a position at Troy High School.
Zawislak teaches Algebra I, Geometry, and Advanced-Placement Statistics. As head of the department, he is in charge of the planning, budgeting, ordering of supplies, and assisting in scheduling classes for the department. He also plans, implements, and assesses high school grade level curriculum. In addition, Zawislak coaches the boys' and girls' varsity soccer teams, where he is also in charge of planning, implementing evaluating, and budgeting for both teams.
"I think building relationships is the most beneficial element to motivating students in the classroom," Zawislak said. "I believe I understand the content I teach, but more importantly, I understand the students I am teaching."
Having known he wanted to teach since his days as a high school student, Zawislak hopes to soon get into the administration aspect of his career and help his fellow teachers fulfill their potential.
A member of the National Education Association and Michigan Education Association, Zawislak earned an Exceptional Educator Award from Eastern Michigan University's Educational Leadership Master's Program. He is also a four-time District Coach of the Year, a three-time Regional Coach of the Year, and was a finalist for the State Coach of the Year Award, all through Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association.
