Biltmore Who's Who Selects Bonnie J. Frontino as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Asheville, NC (1888PressRelease) January 25, 2011 - Bonnie J. Frontino, Nurse Midwife for Femcare, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Bonnie J. Frontino's commitment to excellence in Healthcare.
Frontino, a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife, began working in nursing in 1964 and has worked many years in a variety of healthcare settings. But it wasn't until 1985 that she completed her nurse-midwifery education and began full-scope in the practice.
As a nurse-midwife in the well woman healthcare, Frontino provides yearly examinations for women of all ages and episodic care for any problems that may arise between times, including contraception, transmitted infections, menopausal issues, referrals to other healthcare providers for problems outside her scope of practice, and sometimes moral support for other life crises. "My many years in nursing has been an enormous asset in my present practice," she said. "I may not have done it all, but I feel like I have seen it all in the last forty-six and a half years."
Frontino also owns Sisters Floribunda with partner Lynn von Unwerth, a greenhouse on her property where she grows and sells organic herbs, flowers and vegetables at local tailgate markets. She manages every aspect of the process, from planting the seeds to selling the products. "I feel blessed to now have a bit of land with wonderful pure spring water that allows me to grow to my hearts content," she said.
Planning to continue in her role as a nurse midwife and planting seeds until her hands grow too old, Bonnie is excited for the future. Currently, she is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and Blue Ridge Horticulture. She volunteers her time conducting Food preservation in the local housing projects and within the local community, and also enjoys reading, cooking, and gardening.
