- Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2012 - Allan E. Trimble, Teacher, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Allan E. Trimble's commitment to excellence in Education.
Trimble, who holds two Master's Degrees, one in Speech Pathology and one in School Administration, both from San Francisco State University, and has done advanced studies at the Institute of Administrative Research, Teachers College, at Columbia University, has over fifty years experience in education.
Having taught every grade level from elementary through high school, Trimble also taught as an adjunct professor at three different universities. He holds credentials in elementary education, secondary education, special education, school administration, and is also a certified speech pathologist and audiometrist. He has taught deaf and hard of hearing high school students, the severely handicapped, and brain injured adults at Sonoma State Hospital. His impressive career history includes holding three administrative positions throughout his career, including special education supervisor at Sutter County Office of Education, vice-principal at Sacramento Middle School, and assistant director of educational programs at Yolo County Office of Education.
Having decided to get into the education field to make a difference in the lives of students, and having had a special passion for teaching those with disabilities (Trimble suffers from dyslexia), Trimble is now retired from teaching but has since authored his first book, entitled Teaching Kids to Fail.
"Education is made up of four components," Trimble explained, "parents, schools, community, and government. All are failing and have been for the past fifty years. The future of this country depends on the education of our students, and we are not doing very well."
A member of the National Education Association and Masons, Trimble is also a life member of Phi Delta Kappa. He was elected a representative through California to the National Education Association's National Convention in 1960. He served as chairman of the Sacramento Teachers Association's Salary Committee for numerous years, and was a major contributor to the State Salary Report of the State Department of Education. He is also an active member of the Photographic Society of America as an amateur photographer. Trimble has received a Teacher of the Year Award in 2002 and holds many certifications from various organizations where he's conducted public speaking.
