  • (1888PressRelease) February 15, 2012 - Beverly Hills, CA - Bill White, retired Intrepid President and current Chairman and CEO of Constellations Group, recently attended Clive Davis' Annual Pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton. The initially somber evening, in light of the sudden loss of Whitney Houston just hours earlier, became a truly extraordinary celebration of her life and the music industry she loved.

Bill White, like the rest of the world, was shocked and saddened by the passing of one of the biggest recording artists of all time. "She must be up there in heaven, God rest her soul," said the retired Intrepid President. In an interview with Christina Gonzalez from FOX 11 in LA, retired Intrepid President Bill White explained that everyone was in shock over this tragic loss of such a revered wonder whose angelic voice inspired millions.

In an interview with Heidi Collins from FOX 9 News, Bill White recapped the evening's events and the shock among attendees. Bill White went on to applaud Sean "Diddy" Combs' tribute to Whitney Houston prior to introducing the gala's host, Clive Davis. Diddy reflected on the life of Houston fondly, noting her natural positive spirit and listening to her sing was like listening to magic. He then went on to introduce the host of the pre-Grammy event, Clive Davis.

Davis, mentor of the late Whitney Houston, took the stage and honored the fallen star with a moment of silence. In his opening remarks, Clive Davis said, "Simply put, Whitney would have wanted the music to go on and her family asked that we carry on." Following the moment of silence, Davis declared, "Let the music begin!" The evening's somber mood then turned into a celebration of Whitney Houston's life. "Clive's tribute to Whitney was so special," noted Bill White during the interview with Heidi Collins.

Bill White extends his sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Houston and wishes them much peace and strength in dealing with this unbearable loss.

Earlier this year, Clive Davis attended the wedding of Bill White and longtime partner Bryan Eure at the Four Seasons in New York. Aretha Franklin, the god mother of Whitney Houston, was also in attendance to serenaded the newly married couple and entertain fellow guests. The wedding was the first legal gay wedding ever held at the Four Seasons Restaurant in NYC. The wedding of the retired Intrepid President was a carefully orchestrated and highly publicized event intended to draw attention to legalizing same-sex marriage and marriage equality in America.
