Bharat Hotels rings in the celebration of completing two years of its brand identity - The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group
Bharat Hotels Ltd., the owning company of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, considered to be India's largest privately owned hotel company and also the fastest growing hospitality group, today commenced its celebration of completing two years of its new brand identity - THE LALIT, which is the brand name for all its top line hotels.
- Anniston-Oxford, AL (1888PressRelease) November 22, 2010 - On November 19, 2008 the company had re-branded as 'The Lalit' - as a dedication to its Founder Chairman, Lalit Suri.
To ring in the celebrations, the evening commenced with A Parallel Dimension - performed by Sattyananda (Audio Aashram), Thiruda (BLOT) and an internationally renowned Bharatanatyam performer, Ms. Jayalakshmi Eshwar, showcasing the dream of an inspirational life - through engaging art, music, installations and performances which is synonymous with The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group.
The Group ethos of developing destinations & not just the hotels was brought alive by highlighting that the people and the environment of the destinations, account for the success of Lalit properties. Therefore, the Group's initiatives involve the local population, promote their handicrafts, culture, food, give training and employment to the youth thereby giving a boost to the economic environment. The Lalit has been creating unique events in the destinations it operates in:-
• The Lalit Green Initiative motivated and involved Bangalorians to plant 1.5 Lakh saplings with the hope of stabilizing the diminishing water table of the Garden City. Bangalore Golf Course, the 5th Oldest Golf Course in the World will host The Lalit Suri Invitational Golf 2010 on November 20th.
• The Festival of Canacona (Goa) energized the region. The youth keenly participated in the Lalit Suri Football Tournament, played in the local stadium. The group hosted first ever The Lalit Suri Beach Polo at Rajbaga Beach & celebrating 'Ano Novo' - Goa Carnival with The Lalit
• The ultimate romantic destination, Khajuraho witnessed for the first time the wedding of Shiva & Parvati in the form of "Shiv Vivaha" as part of the Lalit Arts Festival - the residents of the entire district of Chattarpur participated with enthusiasm.
• The people of Kargil once again came alive with the 2nd Lalit Suri Polo. The atmosphere was charged with energy and happiness as local teams played with Team Lalit and the young dynamic Team from Mongolia.
• The completely unknown Bekal region caught the attention and imagination of the entire Southern Region by organizing The Lalit Utsav providing wholesome entertainment for the local residents of all communities, most of whom had never witnessed the vibrant Bhangra or eaten the famous Delhi Chaat.
• The group is the only hospitality chain that wholeheartedly supported the Common Wealth Queen's Baton Relay across the country. Further, The Lalit produced an informative film and distributed over 5000 copies to Schools, Institutions International Press and The Common Wealth Organizing Committee Members from all over the World.
The evening continued with cocktails and dinner hosted for over 2000 guests by Dr. Jyotsna Suri. Nine Developing hotels
The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group now offers 8 luxurious operating hotels - with 9 more scheduled to open between 2011- 2013 - The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata, The Lalit Jaipur, The Lalit Chandigarh, The Lalit Ahmedabad, The Lalit Noida, The Lalit Amritsar, The Lalit Dehradoon, beside two overseas properties in Dubai and Koh Samui (Thailand). The Group is investing Rs 1500 crores in these properties.
The Lalit Jaipur is nearing completion and scheduled for opening in mid 2011. The Chandigarh and Kolkata properties also expected to open by end year.
Mid Market Segment
The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group's diversification into the mid market segment - called The Lalit Traveller are on track, & will open properties in seven locations - Pune, Drass (J & K), Jalandhar, Baroda, Mundra, Maninagar and Bangalore. Offering a total of 410 rooms - each hotel has 25 to 80 rooms based on its location. All hotels are currently under development and expected to be operational by 2011. Overall the group will invest more than Rs 750 to 800 crores in this segment - and plans are to have a network of 25 hotels by 2014.
