BH Publishing Board Calls Emergency Meeting
The Chairman of BH Publishing LLC has called an emergency meeting of the board to discuss the future survival of the business.
- (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2010 - The Board of Directors of BH Publishing, located in Minnetrista, Minnesota, announced today an emergency board meeting to discuss the adverse situation confronting the owners of yourworldoutdoors and other outdoor websites.
Charles Rutledge, Chairman of the Board, said in calling for the emergency meeting, that the recession and questionable tactics by some of its on-line vendors had put the company in an untenable situation. Mr. Rutledge stated "this year we've seen a number of our retailers jump ship to join other networks. Others have delayed payments or significantly reduced their commissions. In May, one particularly large affiliate network changed the code for all of their product ads causing us to completely redo hundreds of outdoor camping ads. All this, plus the increased legal expenses have significantly hurt revenues this quarter."
In calling for the special board meeting, the chairman noted that the Internet continues to be a risky place to do business. "While our websites haven't been hacked yet, we are very concerned about the dramatic increase in viruses, spam, and phishing not only for small businesses but for their customers as well. The dangers for small on-line specialty stores have grown exponentially. This has become a big obstacle for businesses such as ours, and has forced some back to just their brick and mortar presence."
On a positive note, Mr. Rutledge reported that the company has recently collaborated with absolute-michigan.com, Louisiana-sportsman.com, and hunt-fish-camp-wisconsin.com
in reciprocating web-site link exchanges. "We'd like to thank these outdoor websites for their mutual support."
In separate news, Mr. Holm, the company president revealed that it has been seeking emergency funding to meet immediate cash flow needs.
