  • (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2014 - Breach Alarm (formerly 'Should I Change My Password'), a website which informs the public if their email address and password have been compromised by hackers, has today unveiled a free new domain check.

The site was created in 2011 after a spate of significant compromises to websites resulted in thousands of sensitive login details being published online. Since then, Breach Alarm has collected over 200 million compromised email addresses and passwords, and continues to discover more every day.

"Most people don't understand that every time you enter your password online, you're trusting each specific website to keep it safe," said Peter Cameron, CEO of Avalanche Technology Group. "Unfortunately, even large websites are not as good at that as we'd like to believe."

High profile websites that have been compromised since 2011 include LinkedIn, Adobe, eHarmony, and Forbes.

Joining Breach Alarm's offerings is a new Business Watchdog service (https://breachalarm.com/business), allowing business owners to check if any of the email addresses on their domains have previously been compromised, or be immediately notified if a new breach occurs.

The site has been redesigned from the ground up, with improvements including a fresh design, better functionality and all-new, engaging content. The user experience is greatly improved, allowing for more efficient email checking and easy access to the range of plans that Breach Alarm offers, from free to paid solutions.
