Better Homes, the region's largest property consultancy, and Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, Today announced that Sofiane Morouche, a French expatriate residing in Tecom, is the winner of a month long competition for a rent-free apartment at the popular Shorooq Mirdif.

James Gauduchon, Head of Marketing for Better Homes and Mohammed Ahmed Ali, Assistant Manager Marketing for DPG, presented Morouche with the key to his new apartment in one of the most sought after communities in Dubai, where he will live rent free for one full year.

"This competition is unlike any other I have seen in Dubai," said Morouche. "I never expected to win but I'm glad I took a chance and I am very grateful to Better Homes and Dubai Property for this great opportunity. It will definitely change my life!"

The competition, which asked UAE residents what they would do if they didn't have to pay rent, generated almost 1,000 diverse and creative responses from a variety of marketing channels.

"We were overwhelmed with the volume and range of responses" said Gauduchon. The campaign achieved all of its objectives by offering something unique that promoted Shorooq Mirdif and engaged Dubai's residents at a personal and creative level."

Morouche's submission featured a You Tube video that showcased his passion for travel and music. The inventive 60 second video included, postcards, photographs, souvenirs and music from his travels across the globe and expressed his desire to spend the money he saved on rent to pursue these interests. A panel of judges from both Better Homes and DPG chose Morouche's submission based on its creativity and innovation.
