Beth Essey Promoted to Lead Henderson Brothers Employee Benefits Division in Pittsburgh
Essey joins the firm's management team; will oversee all employee benefits staff, development of new products and expansion of services, collaboration between employee benefits and other divisions providing service to clients, as well as new business development.

Essey, who for the last year has been director of strategic accounts in the employee benefits division at Henderson Brothers, Inc., has recently been promoted to manage the division. Henderson Brothers, based downtown, is one of Western Pennsylvania's largest providers of insurance and risk management, employee benefits, retirement plan services and all lines of commercial, personal property and casualty insurance. Essey, who also joins the firm's management team, succeeds Jim Stewart who managed and grew the department for more than two decades. Stewart remains with the company as a senior consultant and will service a number of major accounts.

Ms. Essey is a senior level health and employee benefits consultant, bringing 20 years of experience to her new position. Prior to joining Henderson, she was a principal, senior consultant and health and benefits business leader for the local office of Mercer. Prior to that she served as senior vice president, senior consultant and employee benefits service practice leader at Marsh, having joined the firm in 1992 when it was Johnson & Higgins, and holding positions of vice president and senior consultant. Previously she held account management positions with a national and local benefits brokerage firm.

Essey is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans; the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists; Society for Human Resource Management; WorldatWork and the Pittsburgh Association of Group Executives.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Carolina's Appalachian State University, with a major in marketing and a minor in finance, insurance and real estate.
