Berry DeSimone, Jr. appointed Chief Operating Officer of Legat Architects, Inc.
After 18 years with Legat Architects, Berry DeSimone, Jr. has assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer with the firm.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2010 - Berry DeSimone, Jr. has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Legat Architects, Inc. The promotion is part of a third generation leadership transition of the firm, founded in 1964.
DeSimone will lead the firm's business operations in the areas of project delivery, human resources, technology, and client service. He will work closely with the President/CEO and Chief Financial Officer to align the day-to-day operations and performance criteria with the firm's strategic business goals. DeSimone works with the firm's Studio Directors to oversee project managers and ensure that the firm's processes provide continuous improvement in the areas of Sustainability, Performance, and Design.

DeSimone joined Legat Architects in 1992 as a Senior Project Manager, and has over 37 years of experience in the architecture and construction industries. He grew the firm's life safety/code compliance portfolio to encompass over 300 facilities, and initiated the firm's Building Envelope Services Team. He was promoted to Principal in 2004, to Principal in Charge of the firm's Oak Brook studio in 2005, and to the Board of Directors in 2006. DeSimone holds memberships with the following organizations: American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), International Code Council (ICC), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
