Bernhard Gunther appointed member of RWE AG Executive Board
At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of RWE AG appointed Dr. Bernhard Günther as a member of the Executive Board with effect from 1 July 2012. On 1 January 2013, Bernhard Günther will succeed Dr. Rolf Pohlig, who will retire from the company on 31 December 2012 after reaching the age of 60.
- (1888PressRelease) February 29, 2012 - In July, the Executive Board will decide on the distribution of areas of responsibility between Rolf Pohlig and Bernhard Günther.
RWE AG Supervisory Board chairman, Dr. Manfred Schneider said: “In Bernhard Günther we have again been able to appoint an excellent manager from within the company to a top position. He has been with the Group for many years in various divisions and has a wealth of specialist expertise. We are convinced that Bernhard Günther will follow the course set by Rolf Pohlig, with the same analytical and considered approach, even in difficult times.”
Bernhard Günther (45) is married with two daughters. He studied in St. Gallen and Oxford, subsequently working as a management consultant. Bernhard Günther joined RWE in 1999, where he was Vice President Corporate Planning and Controlling at RWE Power, Vice President Controlling at RWE AG and most recently Chief Financial Officer of RWE Supply & Trading, Essen.
Bernhard Günther’s successor as CFO of RWE Supply & Trading will be appointed at a later date.
