- (1888PressRelease) February 25, 2011 - Hayling Island, United Kingdom - Satellite Internet Service Provider, Bentley Walker Ltd. (www.bentley-walker.com) today announced that it has completed a successful evaluation of the SatManage network management system from iDirect, a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology. SatManage is a comprehensive suite of Web-based software modules designed to help satellite communications operators like Bentley Walker efficiently automate, monitor and integrate large, hybrid networks and Network Operating Center (NOC)-based applications.
As one of the largest VSAT network operators in Europe, Bentley Walker is looking for a way to streamline its network management operations by integrating disparate systems and automating NOC functions. As Bentley Walker grows, it becomes increasingly important for the company to monitor and protect its Service Level Agreements (SLAs) so it can meet customer expectations and continue to add new customers. This is especially critical for the high-profile customers including international defense agencies and large enterprises.
With the SatManage Core module, Bentley Walker gains sophisticated monitoring, correlation and reporting tools that maximize service performance, availability and bandwidth efficiencies. Using SatManage's customizable dashboard, Bentley Walker's NOC engineers gain a single-page overview of network activity that simplifies and streamlines NOC activity. Further, Bentley Walker can increase SLA compliance and improve customer satisfaction using an extensive reporting database that automatically generates intelligent reports on SLA performance and customer traffic.
"SatManage is a powerful and intuitive system that can provide our NOC engineers with heightened visibility, automation and analytics they need to keep up with our business growth and increasing customer demands," said Anthony Walker, CEO of Bentley Walker LTD. "After a successful evaluation of several of the software's specialized feature packages, we're very impressed with the product's capabilities and its potential to optimize our business."
Bentley Walker is also evaluating several of SatManage's add-on feature packages, each designed to help it meet specific business and customer demands. One of these is the Customer Management Package, which enables Bentley Walker to share network performance data and management tools directly with customers through a fully customizable Web-based portal. The operator can even produce live reports on customer SLA's. Another is the Mobility Package, which provides real-time snapshots of the health, status and exact location of all mobile customer remotes through an advanced tracking and mapping system.
"Major service providers rely on SatManage to support expanding global network deployments and meet the needs of new and increasingly demanding customers," added Stephen Tunnicliffe, iDirect's regional vice president of Europe. "Upon implementing SatManage, Bentley Walker can expect to increase network performance, quicken response times, improve customer satisfaction and lower its operating costs."
