Bella Roma's Comedy Showcase Commences Second Year
Geoff with a G heads up a comedy team that begins its second year starting on July 30th, 2011, 8pm-10pm. Monthly shows are scheduled to continue on the last Saturday of every month throughout the coming year.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2011 - Stand up comedian Geoff Armstrong heads a comedy team of his own making the last Saturday of every month. The line up includes Michael O'Brien, Duke Michaels, Dylan Boisvert, Gordon Downs, Lauren Cialella and Omar Moore. The troupe performs at Bella Roma's Pizza on La Jolla Boulevard. The show is celebrating its 13th month on Saturday, July 30, 2011, 8pm-10pm.
For one year Armstrong, a.k.a. Geoff with a G, has been presenting stand up at Bella Roma. The comedy presentation grew immediately from a one-man show to a group of comedians, hand picked by Armstrong. The shows began with an unsolicited invitation from Bella Roma's owner after hearing Armstrong at Bella Roma's open mic.
The core team of comedians meets at Bella Roma each month to give a show that is increasing in popularity. With twelve consecutive months behind Bella Roma's Comedy Showcase, it is becoming a known installment of the restaurant. Bella Roma's is a family establishment and comedians make an attempt to keep with the family atmosphere. Seating is available away from the stage for parents with concerns.
The 13th show, set for July 30, 2011 marks the commencement of the show's second year. Shows are planned to continue throughout the year, every last Saturday of the month.
Armstrong has done stand up since December of 2009. He has enjoyed the counsel of mentors who have known fame such as Mal Hall and Dangerous Dick Spenneberg. The Bella Roma Comedy Showcase has grown to its current ensemble through personal selection of comedians by Armstrong.
