Bel Air Chiropractor certified for SHINE program to care for those with ADHD
Dr. Evan Christman, Bel Air chiropractor, add certified SHINE program to his practice, helping those with ADHD. SHINE provides the tools needed to make assessments and achieve results when caring for those who show symptoms of ADHD.
- Baltimore, MD (1888PressRelease) July 12, 2013 - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is considered by many to be a tragic problem. Dr. Edward Hallowell, a world-renowned authority on ADHD, may not completely agree with that assessment.
According to his website, SHINE for Doctors, while admitting that ADHD can lead to "many disasters in life," he regards it "as a characteristic, which, when well managed, contains many gifts and talents."
Dr. Hallowell has designed an effective program that he calls SHINE for Doctors. SHINE stands for Special Help for Integrating Neurological Experience.
SHINE for Doctors provides the tools needed to make assessments and achieve results when caring for those who show symptoms of ADHD. There are many neurosensory processing disorders that on the surface appear to be ADHD, but that merely mimic it.
These neurosensory processing disorders, including ADHD, are all related to the central nervous system. All the same things that can exacerbate any central nervous system issue, such as emotional and environmental stress, nutritional deficiencies, and trauma, can exacerbate these disorders.
Chiropractic directly addresses these types of issues, and by implementing the tools and concepts from the SHINE for Doctors program, special care can be given to those affected by ADHD. The program is designed to strengthen, balance and improve brain function.
According to an article by Kira Bailey, titled "ADHD Treatment through the SHINE Protocol Model," those being cared for and those around them have reported "improved school and work performance, better behavior, a happier home, better teacher, student, social, work, filial and romantic relationships" as well as "better sleep and increased ability to focus and improved self-esteem."
Dr. Hallowell's SHINE program will certify a select few chiropractors to utilize his 30 plus years of expertise in the field and apply it to those they care for in their practice.
In Bel Air, MD, one such chiropractor has been certified by SHINE. Dr. Evan Christman, of Christman Family Chiropractic, is integrating the SHINE model. He is confident this will provide a transformative shift in those he cares for in his practice.
Dr. Christman has been successfully caring for kids with ADHD for many years, but with the integration of SHINE, there will be a new focus and advanced means of care that will offer additional support and increased success.
Dr. Christman states, "Over the last 17 years, I have seen many amazing changes occur in children with ADHD through the care they have received in our office. Our chiropractic care has allowed children who were struggling to reach higher levels and now tap into their true potential. I am excited about the changes that we are making by integrating with the SHINE model. It can transform their lives. I believe that the combination chiropractic with SHINE will help these families get to the underlying causes of the problem and not just deal with the symptoms."
He has seen people, who did not function well, be able to focus and develop an incredible drive to not just function, but succeed in areas they never thought possible.
