The storyline approximates the experience of Dr. Janson and his wife, Mary, when they adopted two little girls from Ecuador, Emma and Maria. Dr. Janson read the girls this story when they first arrived so they would know that they were now members of the family. Emma and Maria have grown into young adulthood, healthy, happy and ready to take their place in the world.

About the Author:
Dr. Janson is a physician in the practice of Emergency Medicine in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and is also certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He attended both Boston University College of Engineering and Boston University School of Medicine. In addition to his practice in the emergency department, he teaches Family Practice residents and still finds time to write books, such as The Child in Our Hearts. Paul and Mary live in Georgetown, Massachusetts on a small farm with Emma and Maria along with their dogs and cat, chickens, and rabbits and of course the love - especially the love.
