BBVA uses the social network Foursquare to foster its customer relations

  • (1888PressRelease) November 26, 2012 - For the last three months, BBVA has built-out proactive management of its branches' with Foursquare in the social network. This innovative service is enabling BBVA to obtain first-hand knowledge of any problems customers may have in each zone as well as giving BBVA the ability to offer new services, such as the chance to earn more points in BBVA Game, the game that rewards interaction with the bank.


    The relationship between BBVA and Foursquare began in the summer. The process will be gradually extended to all the countries in which the bank operates. Through this relationship, Foursquare has become another point of contact for BBVA in the social networks, in this case combining customer interaction with physical location.
    Direct management by BBVA will provide first-hand knowledge of user opinions on each branch and allow BBVA to offer products and offers that combine the real and virtual worlds. As always, the aim is to improve relations with customers wherever they are and in the most convenient way possible.

    A new way of earning points in BBVA Game

    BBVA's presence in Foursquare is also tied to BBVA Game, the innovative customer loyalty project that introduces gamification techniques to enhance customer relations with the bank. BBVA Game is very simple: customers access a microsite through bbva.es that gives them six challenges divided into milestones, which they must achieve to obtain medals and points that can be exchanged for direct prizes or entries to prize draws for iPads, Samsung smartphones, trips to the U.S. to see NBA games, tickets to the BBVA League, etc. With Foursquare, BBVA will also incorporate a new way of earning points by offering customers a 1,500 point bonus when they "check-in" at the BBVA branches in Foursquare.
