Base launches new 'off the shelf' sports hall range
in Sprung Structures partnership
Tensile specialist, Base Structures, unveils a patented membrane sports hall structure that costs just a fraction of traditional alternatives and offers exceptional energy saving qualities.
- (1888PressRelease) January 17, 2013 - The standardised modular structure has been designed to meet the recent guidelines for the Priority School Building Programme. Developed by Sprung Structures Ltd, the product is one of the most technically advanced of its type - a stressed membrane structure that combines fast erection sequences with high thermal qualities.
The launch seals a deal where Base is to act as the manufacturer's representative in the UK for Sprung Structures' entire product range including hangars and industrial units, providing supply and installation.
The sports hall structure is available in a standard, pre-designed footprint but can be adapted for different sites including reversing the layout, expanding the footprint and cladding options. It also offers the following exceptional qualities:
• Up to 35% cheaper than traditional construction options
• Fully compliant with EFA baseline designs
• In excess of 20 years' warranty
• 'Excellent' BREEAM rating
• An impressive 8 week build programme
• Engineered to withstand wind and snow loads
• Standard option but with flexibility
"We are very excited about the opportunity to develop our product range further with a company that shares the same commitment to quality and innovation while balancing affordability, vitally important in the continued period of austerity," said John Dalton, managing director at Base Structures. "This product is another example which demonstrates the versatility of tensile fabric architecture to meet a wide variety of construction needs."
"Standardising products is a great way to ensure the viability of important building projects and nowhere is this more important than in the education sector," said Grant Feast, at Sprung Structures Ltd. "We are delighted to be working with Base Structures and we believe our modular sports hall structure is a highly attractive prospect for schools with limited capital funding."
