Barman To Do To The Treble In Charity Running Effort
Evan Sarpong thrives to make charity for Children's Hospital, Sheffield by doubling his efforts.

A barman at the Copthorne Hotel, Sheffield, has stormed through wind and rain and sprinted through blistering heat in a double running effort and now he's aiming for the treble.
The amateur runner Evans, 29, from Heeley, has already excelled in the Chris Hoy Edinburgh Half Marathon, finishing in the top 91 per cent with a time of 1 hour 34 minutes.
He also went for a "quick sprint" around Chatsworth in its annual 10km chase last month.
And now Evans has his sights set on the London Half Marathon as part of his efforts to raise as much cash as possible for the Copthorne's chosen charity, the Children's Hospital, Sheffield.
Evans, who has just finished a degree in hospitality management at Sheffield Hallam, said: "I had never run a half marathon before so I was really pleased with my time and I came 285th in the race. But it is more to do with raising money for charity than me doing well. I'm still collecting money and so far I have raised almost £400.
"The Children's Hospital is the Copthorne's chosen charity and when I researched it I knew it would make a great choice. Everyone who donated was really willing to give to such a fantastic charity.
To be granted a place in the London Marathon Evans must now prove his devotion to the charity.
"I really want to complete a marathon as it will be a great achievement. I've done 10km races recently but the marathon presents a fantastic challenge for me and I would love to test myself over 26 miles."
Until then, Evans will be mixing things up at the Copthorne and is hoping to secure a place on the graduate scheme of this Sheffield hotel (http://www.millenniumhotels.co.uk/copthornesheffield/index.html) to further develop his skills within the hotel industry.
