She received her undergraduate degree from Florida International University and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry, where she was elected to Beta Sigma Kappa, the Optometric National Honor Society. Dr. Ahmed then completed an internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) in Salem, Virginia and a residency at Seidenberg-Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, Maryland."
