Pangos camp has many NBA alumni's, because only the best is invited to this notable camp to learn and showcase their talents.
Kadar is considered by Basketball Universe Academy to be one of the top 6th graders in Bakersfield. Having played basketball since the age of three and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) basketball since age five. Kadar considers himself a Veteran at the age of twelve. Kadar is a STUDENT ATHLETE who is committed to preparing himself to play at a highly competitive level. In addition to the dedication of training, games, tournaments and camps, Kadar is an honor roll student, who continues to develop confidence, self esteem and leadership skills.
Playing basketball on this level provides Kadar opportunities to receive exposure necessary to be able to be recruited by PAC 12 Universities. Kadar has been trained by his father since he could first dribble the ball. Doc Waller, Director of Basketball for CSUB Bakersfield Men said, "Kadar is a student of the game, he loves to train and he loves to compete, but grades are first in our house". He said he is proud that Kadar works as hard off the court as he does on the court.
Having Bakersfield student athletes attend the Invite Only Pangos camp brings attention back to Bakersfield. This camp have been attended by many NBA players in the likes of LeBron James (Miami Heat), Dwight Howard (Los Angeles Lakers), Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics), Baron Davis (New York Knicks), Tyson Chandler (New York Knicks), Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards), Josh Childress (Brooklyn Nets), Kirk Hinrich (Chicago Bulls), Tayshaun Prince (Detroit Pistons), Drew Gooden (Milwaukee Bucks, Sebastian Telfair (Phoenix Suns), Rashard Lewis (Miami Heat), Richard Jefferson (Golden State Warriors), Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors), Hakeem Warrick (Charlotte Bobcats), Earl Watson (Utah Jazz), Stephen Jackson (San Antonio Spurs), Arron Afflalo (Orlando Magic), Gabriel Pruitt (Boston Celtics), Jared Dudley (Phoenix Suns), JJ Hickson (Portland Trailblazers), Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee Bucks), James Harden (Houston Rockets), DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors), Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia 76'ers), Jordan Hill (Los Angeles Lakers), Austin Daye (Detroit Pistons), Darren Collison (Dallas Mavericks), John Wall (Washington Wizard, Derrick Favors (Utah Jazz), Jason Kapono (Philadelphia 76'ers), Brook Lopez (Brooklyn Nets), DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers), CJ Miles (Cleveland Cavaliers), Robin Lopez (New Orleans Hornets), Wesley Mathews (Portland Trailblazers), Jerryd Bayless (Memphis Grizzlies), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder), Nick Young (Philadelphia 76'ers), Jordan Farmer (New Jersey Nets), Dorell Wright (Philadelphia 76'ers), Jeff Pendergraph (Indiana Pacers), Spencer Hawes (Philadelphia 76'ers), Taj Gibson (Chicago Bulls), Quincy Pondexter (Memphis Grizzlies), Landry Fields (Toronto Raptors), Anthony Davis (New Orleans Hornets), Brad Beal (Washington Wizards), Darius Morris (LA Lakers), Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors), Derrick Williams (Minnesota Timberwolves), Jeremy Tyler (Golden State Warriors), Chandler Parsons (Houston Rockets), Wayne Ellington (Memphis Grizzlies), Gerald Henderson (Charlotte Bobcats).
Kadar is a point guard, who also plays basketball for his school and broke the 1988 record for the most passes, not a selfish player, and along with his team brought a championship back to his school. Something that had not been done since the 80's as well. As a stand out player, coaches of high schools have already started contacting his dad as well as being recruited by top AAU traveling teams, from Los Angeles, Oakland, Utah and Texas.
The Pangos Camp Showcase will take place in Redondo Beach, CA, on February 23 - 24. The top kids in the nation attending the camp will have coverage from media and scouts from ESPN, Scouthoops, 247Sports, Rivals, BurlisonOnBasketball & Sports Illustrated, to name a few. They will also get evaluated by the Nation's Top Scouts over the two-day event.
Parents and Coach Jessie have reached out to the community to show its support for the five kids to receive the invite to help them raise the money necessary to send them to the camp. The hope is to raise enough funds to allow them to both participate in the camp and get new basketball equipment.
Coach Jessie said, "Our main goal with all of our student athletes, including Waller, is to ensure that we are preparing them to succeed outside of sports after they leave us." We are so proud of all our boys for being selected for this camp and that they will be able to use this opportunity as a stepping stone to get one step closer to hopefully receiving a scholarship to go to college."
This group of kids may be the first to receive an INVITE ONLY to the Pangos camp. This will bring exposure not only to them, but to Bakersfield. Being that Bakersfield has had only six basketball players to go on to play professionally, Nikki Blue (Washington Mystic-WNBA), Fred Boyd - NBA player, Chris Childs - NBA guard, Lonnie Shelton - Seattle SuperSonics all-star, Robert Swift - Tokyo Apache (Japan) center, and J. R. Sakuragi - formerly J.R. Henderson - Memphis Grizzlies. I say that this is a big deal for our city, with all the successful NBA players who are alumni's of this camp.
Can Kadar and the group of kids count on you to support them? Corporations, Churches and Individuals can make a donation to help support by emailing to bakersfieldelitebasketball ( @ ) gmail dot com
