Back-to-back wins solidify e-market dominance: JobStreet.com named "Best Website for Jobs" anew
JobStreet.com was once again named "Best Website" under the Jobs Category by the DigitalFilipino - Search Profile Index Web Awards 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) March 13, 2012 - JobStreet.com was once again named "Best Website" under the Jobs Category by the DigitalFilipino - Search Profile Index Web Awards 2011. JobStreet.com won the same award last year and this year's citation cements further its place for being the No. 1 job site in the country.
Earlier this year, JobStreet.com affirmed its lead among all job sites in the Philippines by obtaining the largest number of jobseekers at 4.4 million and largest number of companies posting job ads at 22,000 including the Top 1,000 companies.
The DigitalFilipino Web Awards aims to recognize the way web sites are being perceived and valued by users. Recent studies show that the Filipino's primary Internet activity today is to search and interact through social networks. This puts pressure to various websites to maintain high quality through relevant content and attractiveness for social media sharing.
Paul Adams, a widely recognized thinker on the social web mentions this concept in his book entitled, "Grouped" that as the "new world" is being formed, changes are being brought about by massive shifts including in the structure of the web. From being content-driven, websites are now becoming people-centered.
"By winning this award, we are just showing everyone that jobseeker is king… they matter to us the most," says Grace Colet, JobStreet.com country manager. "Everything that we do is centered on how we can connect them to a better life… It's not about just providing them access to jobs… That is content and that is technical… But it's about providing them with opportunities to improve their lives through better careers… and that makes us people-centered."
According to the award-giving body, they scanned local websites in 50 to 100 categories to create the DigitalFilipino Web Awards - Search Profile Index Top website list. Awards were given to websites on the basis of the following criteria: search engine competitiveness, ranking on popular category keywords, website traffic stickiness, technical performance and social media engagement.
The Award will be conferred during the 3rd DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Summit which will be held on February 24, 2012 at The Peninsula Manila Hotel, Makati City. On the same day, JobStreet.com will be joined by other winners such as
