B1 File Manager v0.8.6: Menu Remade and UI Improved
The latest release of B1 File Manager brings new Action Buttons, restyled Multiselect, search and more.
- (1888PressRelease) August 16, 2014 - Catalina Group presents the latest update of the popular Android application - B1 File Manager. The latest version (labeled 0.8.6) is generally centered around improving the user interface: the update brings new buttons to the Action Bar, making it stylish and at the same time more functional.
Among the most noticeable changes is the appearance of the new Action Buttons. While adding Copy, Paste, Move, Search and other buttons of traditional design, Create archive and Unpack archive buttons were added. The later follows the design featured on B1 Free Archiver and B1 File Manager logo.
Version 0.8.6 also introduces a remade Multiselect menu. Square labeled buttons were also replaced with new Action Buttons, allowing for better navigation and a more universal look. Square checkboxes, which were previously green, are now round and blue, repeating the color pallet of the original B1 archive icons.
Search menu was also restyled, replacing green highlights of search results with the above mentioned B1 blue color. The last change in this update is a new settings option - "Always download files to downloads folder". With this option enabled, users don't need to choose the folder they want to download files from a cloud - the downloads folder becomes a default one.
Adam Buyer, project leader at B1 says:
"While most of the changes featured in this release are cosmetic ones, they are quite important. We wanted to revise our UI philosophy, making the design of B1 File Manager more consistent. Now it follows a single color scheme, eliminating colors that clash with the overall design.
With new Action Buttons users don't have to summon the context menu in order to do basic file management. The most frequently used options are now always present, be that a home screen, any cloud, network connection or a Multiselect menu. With this changes we hope that the overall workflow will become smoother and pleasant for our fans."
