For years now, Georgia’s insurance marketplace has been nothing short of broken. State residents pay nearly $2,000 a month for full coverage car insurance coverage – representing the 5th highest premiums in the United States – and 1.4 million Georgians do not have health insurance. To make matters worse, the political establishment has done little to nothing to improve the situation; the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute recently estimated that 25% of rural Georgia residents will be without health insurance by 2026.
“I decided to jump into this race because the insurance industry in our great state is, frankly, a mess,” says Raphael. “The system is broken and it’s time for something new.
