Autumn Taster Day Helping Teams Perform Management Training and Team Building from Focus Training
Every season, Focus Experiential Training run a FREE Taster day. We choose specific topics in response to the conversations we have with clients and potential clients, and also in connection with events in the wider world.
- (1888PressRelease) October 16, 2010 - Why should YOU attend?
We learn about the issues and situations facing you as Human Resource and Learning & Development Professionals, and we design the content of each taster day to help you address these. As a leading Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) accredited training centre, we are well placed to keep you updated with new developments within the training industry.
Autumn's Taster Day will look at how to get your teams motivated following difficult economic times and in the face of uncertainty. You will be able to experience our training style and facilities and feel like a delegate on one of our workshops, as well as having the opportunity to network with fellow professionals who may be facing or have dealt with the same challenges you are encountering. You can also benefit from input from our experienced facilitators if you have a specific issue you want to address.
What will the day involve?
The day begins at 10am, so we encourage you to arrive a little earlier to for refreshments and to meet your colleagues. We will be serving bacon sandwiches or vegetarian alternatives to welcome you and we'll begin the day with a brief introduction to Focus Experiential Training. The morning session is 'Helping Teams Perform - "Out of the Fog" to "Painting by Numbers"'. The session will demonstrate a 4 step process which can help to lead your people through ambiguity and uncertainty, enabling them to make best use of their resources, harness creativity and improve performance. This theory will be brought to life with an outdoor experiential activity.
Following the morning's learning, you will be ready for your hot two-course farmhouse-fayre style lunch, served in garden room of the training barn. Our famous lunches are very well received. Have a look to see what visitors think about our chef's efforts!
In the afternoon, we will introduce, or refresh your memory to the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI). We always learn that we should treat people how we would like to be treated but is this always the right approach? The SDI helps you to understand what makes people tick, how you can tailor your communication style to create successful outcomes, reduce conflict and increase productivity. Once again you will have opportunity to fully embed this learning by taking part in the specially designed outdoor activity and then reviewing it against the theory.
Before you leave at 3:30pm, we will give you details about some of the workshop we can offer you, and we'll have a few pictures of the day's events!

How can Focus Training help my training needs?
For all your training needs, Focus Experiential Training can create effective solutions. We can help you develop your people's management and leadership skills, or quality accredit your existing programmes and workshops with ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) endorsement. Our outdoor team building events can help your people understand their team dynamics, practise new skills in a safe environment and improve relationships and therefore productivity back at work.
We create bespoke training workshops. Our skilled and experienced facilitators work with you to ascertain your specific needs and then we create the content around these objectives. We also have a High-Performing Team (HPT) diagnostic that we can use with your team to identify the issues they feel need development. We can design the training based on these and then run the diagnostic again around 12 weeks after the event to measure the changes. Please ask for details!

We ensure that every delegate regardless of age, physical condition or anxiety level will be able to take a role in each of our exercises. Please see Delegates FAQ for further details. Your team will be co-operating, communicating, sharing experiences and developing trust, and when they return to work, they would have spent time together they will want to talk about.
