Since 2012, the United Nations has recognized October 11th as a day to promote female empowerment and highlight the needs of girls. All girls need and deserve knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe from bullying, robbery, abduction, sexual assault, and other people-dangers. According to the author, “learning self-protection skills improves a girl’s life in surprising ways.”
“Not Prey” is a three book set by Marcy Shoberg available through Amazon. Book one, which is free in Kindle format on October 11, teaches high school and college-aged ladies to use our natural tools of self-protection. These include brain, demeanor, voice, and body. Books two and three expand on applying these tools to each people-danger and in the presence of complications such as other people to protect.
The book has won Gold Award from the Non-Fiction Author’s Association and recently won gold in its category of the 2018 Human Relations Indie Book Contest. Shoberg is a self-defense instructor and author from Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA. She promotes armored-assailant training such as FAST Defense, Model Mugging, and IMPACT.
